Thomas J. Reese, SJ is a Jesuit priest, political scientist, and internationally respected scholar and commentator on religion and politics. He is a senior fellow at the Woodstock Theological Center at Georgetown University and featured blogger for the Washington Post-Newsweek. He was the editor of America magazine from 1998-2005. He is the author of several books including Inside the Vatican: The Politics and Organization of the Catholic Church (Harvard University Press, 1998). His work is highly praised for its objectivity, nuance, and clarity. Fr. Reese has a doctorate in political science from the University of California, Berkeley.
